LFA designed this 500 sf Madison Ave art gallery, obtained city approval, and performed construction management services. Working closely with the owner, who showcases 20th-century artists, LFA Architects studied Parisian shop fronts to compose this faux-finished mahogany storefront with wide plate glass to invite passersby to look in.
Hubert Gallery Interior Details
A rich, burled effect was achieved with a faux finish applied to wood cabinetry, base moldings, and to the storefront itself. Twentieth century artists’ work is hung on walls of champagne tone fabric, with crown moldings painted offwhite to match the ceiling. A library and office are reached through double pocket doors. The double panes have rice paper between the glass.
